Dr. Maico Melo
Dr. Melo was born and raised in Victoria and returned home to establish his oral and maxillofacial surgery practice after completing his dental training at the University of British Columbia and four year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
He has authored several peer reviewed scientific articles and is a former clinical instructor for oral surgery at the University of British Columbia.
He performs a full range of oral and maxillofacial surgical services including wisdom tooth removal, dental implants, jaw and reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Colin Sharpe
Dr. Colin Sharpe was raised in Alberta and attended dental school at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, graduating as a Dental Surgeon in 1967. After practicing oral surgery for five years as a dental officer at Canadian Forces Base Cold Lake, Alberta, he moved his family to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he was enrolled as a student in the faculty of Graduate Studies, Dalhousie University, on the oral surgery program of Dr. Frank W. Lovely. He served concurrently as an Intern, and later as a Resident, on the oral surgery program centered at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax, N.S.
Dr. Sharpe then moved his family to Red Deer, Alberta, in 1973, where he practiced oral surgery. In 1976, while visiting Victoria, he met Dr. Dennis E. Frazer, an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, who kindly encouraged him to move to Victoria which he did later that same year. He practiced as a solo practitioner until 1979 when Dr. Frazer invited him to move in beside Dr. Frazer in a newly built office building at 1964 Fort Street, near the Royal Jubilee Hospital.
In 2001 Dr. Sharpe was invited to move into the newly built Victoria Surgery Clinic at the present location on Finlayson Street where he currently practices exodontia (the removal of difficult teeth), the surgical removal of third molars ("wisdom" teeth), and minor oral surgery under intravenous sedation or general anesthesia, in the Victoria Surgery Clinic. Dr. Sharpe also performs full mouth extractions at all of the local area hospitals.
Dr. Sharpe is a General Practitioner - Practice Limited to Oral Surgery. Dr. Sharpe is not an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.
