Post-Bariatric Surgery
Many patients decide they want a more all-encompassing solution, and can undergo the procedure known as the "body lift."
After extreme weight loss, patients may be dissatisfied with the loose skin they are left with.
This can be remedied by surgery consisting of one or more of the following procedures such as:
- Tummy tuck
- Brachioplasty
- Thighplasty
- Buttockplasty
A full body lift is most often performed on the lower half of the torso and the thighs, addressing the loose skin of the stomach, back, hips, thighs, and buttocks.
A body lift is a combination of buttockplasty, thighplasty and tummy tuck done on the same day.
This combined procedure is more complex and patients must understand the potential for risks and complications.
The recovery period is considerably longer than when the procedures are done in isolation.
Most patients, however, find that the body lift is the most effective type of obesity plastic surgery for removing loose skin after weight loss.
